TLT Academy - Choices @ 14-19/GCSE equivalent

TLT Academy - Choices @ 14-19 year old

TLT have had a successful working relationship with local education authorities and career advisory services for over 10 years. TLT put young people at the forefront of our course development and provision. TLT work in a collaborative partnership with many schools offering a wide range of bespoke vocational courses, designed to keep the learners fully engaged in education and to broaden the choices available including GCSE and A level equivalent, which show on the schools league tables.

TLT are proud to add the Vocational Training Charitable Trust (VTCT) GCSE programme to our prospectus. TLT support our awarding body VTCT,  as we recognise the value of this course not only for the learner but to support the schools achievement figures at a time when funding is totally results driven.

TLT, through our training programmes, teach our learners the essential theory and understanding to support the practical application of treatments. TLT develop these skills, whilst building confidence in the learners to carry out the treatments, which ensures that all of our completing learners are 'work ready’.  This is essential if the learner chooses full employment it will also give them the option to use these skills to support their lifestyle whilst continuing in school or progression onto University.

Learners commencing a degree, not only have the debt of the student loan for their course fees, but are often required to find employment to support their living expenses. The positions available to learners are typically waiter/waitress, bartender or even a shop assistant. This work is physically demanding with long unsociable hours, which could be detrimental to their studies.

A solution to this problem could be studying a vocational course such as Hairdressing, (Ladies & Gents) Beauty Therapy treatments such as Nails, Lashes, Waxing, Facials and Makeup. These skills will give earning potential either immediately working self-employed or as an employee in a salon. Working freelance gives the maximum degree of flexibility to manage your diary around a University study timetable whilst earning a substantial income. This will not only benefit the learner but will give their colleagues a professional salon service at a reduced rate.

TLT can tailor make the course to suit the individuals interest. As well as the professional suite of courses we have a wide range of workshops for popular treatments, plus self application to encourage personal care of the skin, hair, nails, makeup application like the professionals, including a fabulous course on 'how to apply makeup on the days when you don't want to wear makeup'.

Educators have been put under tremendous pressure to keep their learners engaged and in education, even in circumstances when their learners are less suited to the more institutionalised education learning environment. TLT has the solution to this problem, with our maximum class sizes of 8 learners per group and the use of the TLT PTU training aids, our learners are consistently fully engaged.
